Anchor is designed with privacy in mind. Your personal thoughts and reminders belong to you.
Last updated: August 3, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Anchor handles information when you use the Anchor application.
Anchor is designed to minimize the collection of personal information. You do not need to create an account to use the app.
2. Information We Collect
Anchor does not collect personal information that you enter into the app.
In particular, the Anchors, thoughts, and saved text you create are stored locally on your device. They are not transmitted to Anchor's servers.
Anchor does not require an account and does not collect information such as your name, email address, or profile information through the app.
3. Local Data Storage
Information you create in Anchor, including your current Anchor and saved thoughts, is stored locally on your device.
Some information may be shared locally between the Anchor app and its widgets using Apple's App Groups technology. This sharing occurs on your device and does not transmit your personal text to us.
Removing the app may remove locally stored information, subject to the behavior of iOS and any device backups managed by you or Apple.
4. Reflections and Collections
Anchor may retrieve reflection and collection content from Anchor's backend service so that this content can be displayed in the app.
Your personal Anchors, saved thoughts, and text entries are not sent to this service.
5. Notifications
If you enable reminders, Anchor uses Apple's local notification system to schedule notifications on your device.
Anchor does not use its own server to send these notifications. You can disable notifications at any time through Anchor's settings or the notification settings on your device.
6. Anchor+ and Purchases
Anchor may offer optional subscriptions through Anchor+. Purchases and subscription payments are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit.
Anchor does not receive or store your payment card or banking information.
Apple may process information related to your purchases in accordance with Apple's own privacy policies and terms.
7. Analytics and Tracking
Anchor does not currently use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or behavioral tracking technologies.
Anchor does not use your activity to build advertising profiles and does not sell your personal information.
8. Crash Reporting
Anchor does not currently integrate a third-party crash reporting service.
Apple may provide developers with diagnostic or crash information according to your device settings and Apple's privacy practices.
9. Third-Party Services
Anchor relies on certain Apple platform services, including the App Store, StoreKit, notifications, widgets, and related iOS technologies.
Your use of Apple services is also subject to Apple's applicable privacy policies and terms.
10. Data Retention and Deletion
Because personal Anchors and saved thoughts are stored locally rather than in an Anchor account or on Anchor's servers, Anchor does not maintain a server-side account containing this information.
You can remove saved information using features available within the app or by removing the app and its locally stored data from your device.
11. Children's Privacy
Anchor does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not require users to provide personal information or create an account.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, including within the European Economic Area, you may have legal rights concerning your personal data, such as rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection.
Because Anchor is designed not to collect your personal Anchors or saved thoughts on its servers, we generally do not possess this locally stored information.
If you have a privacy-related question or request, you may contact us using the email address below.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if Anchor's features or data practices change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
